Missionary Internship In Mazatlan Mexico

My name is Patrick Valentine. One year ago, I went on my first mission trip to Mazatlan Mexico. It was my first time going on a mission trip, and it was one that changed my life. The people I met there, and the things I experienced left a mark on my heart that cannot be removed. It made me see and love people and God in a new light. After returning home to Ohio , there has not been a single day that has passed that I haven't felt like I am being called back here. On February 1st I will be returning to mazatlan, but this time, my stay will be longer than a week. I will be doing a 6 month missionary internship at shoulder to shoulder. Shoulder to shoulder is a non profit organization in mazatlan that focuses on planting new churches and supporting those already in existence with many resources. John and Rachel Reaser established and run this organization. They are two incredible people who share a vision and a love for Jesus and the gospel. They gave up their lives here in the United States to share the gospel and show others the love God has for his people. I will be learning a lot from the Reasers, along with many others there. Once I am there in mazatlan I will be enrolled in studies, learning Spanish along with biblical principles. I will be doing maintenance to the sts facility, along with various construction projects for improvements on a daily basis. I will be planning for and helping lead construction teams that will come to sts to do various projects at churches in the city. I will be involved in the ministry with several churches, where I will be able to learn more about Mexican culture and how they worship God. My personal needs while I am there will be providing myself with transportation, whether that be taking buses, Uber's, taxis, riding a bike or buying myself a vehicle. Renting an apartment so I have a space of my own to rest. Providing groceries and cooking many of my own meals for myself. The purpose in me embarking on this journey is to determine if a full time position in ministry and or the missionary field is the life for me. All I know for certain is that this is where god is leading me now, and I am following his lead. Taking a step away from family, my friends, my dog, and our family business will not be easy for me by any stretch of imagination, but with God in my corner, I have the strength to do so. To anyone who desires to support me, the financial aspect is important, but it is not the most important. Phone calls, messages, and most importantly prayers for me while I am on this journey will be felt and appreciated greatly from each and every person reading this.
