Zinet, a 32 year old woman who is a wife and a mother of a 5 year old boy is in need of your help and support. Zinet got married to her husband Jemil Ahmed six years ago. They started a new beautiful family and welcomed their 5 year old boy. Unfortunately soon after, she suffered from brain tumor and had surgery in FORTIS Hospital India.
Zinet and Jemil had to make 3 round trips from Addis Ababa to India. The total cost incurred in the treatment process was huge and close to 1.3 Million Ethiopian Birr. It was covered with substantial support from their family, their saving and loans not yet fully settled.
The surgery was successful and Zinet started recovering and giving her husband and her baby boy the love and attention they all missed so much. Life restarted and all seem to be fine until about 10 Months later when Zinet has lost strength to walk (caused most probably by her radiation therapy or steroids given during treatment) and doctors in Ethiopia and India told her that she needs bilateral total hip replacement surgery. It was a heart breaking news to Zinet and her family. The cost of bilateral total hip replacement surgery is estimated USD 15,000 in India.
It is unbearable even to imagine the shock and pain imposed on a young family struggling to recover from the financial and psychological stress caused by the brain surgery only a few months ago.
