Helping Great Neck Fire Victims
Tax deductible
This past weekend, there was a building fire on northern Middle Neck Road that caused damage to the upstairs apartments of that building, leaving two families in our school district homeless. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Great Neck Public Schools Central Administration was notified immediately. The families are currently in temporary housing and have transportation to school.
The children affected are between the ages of 3-16. These two families have lost everything. As is the case in many fires, a lot of property was destroyed by fire, smoke and/or water; these families need to start all over. Everyday items that we tend to take for granted -- like clothing, bedding, toiletries, kitchen items and school supplies -- are all gone.
As a community, we can make huge difference in the lives of these children and their families when they need us the most.
Please donate.
All donations received will be divided among the victims. If and when the monetary goal is achieved, we will put the extra money in a UPTC account that is specifically earmarked for community emergency use. That way, should there be any other district families in similar need in the future, we will be able to access funds immediately.
Thank you for helping us to help others.
