HELP!!! LILY NEEDS A BIKE!!!! Lily’s our 14 year old Mito Warrior. She has a very rare form of the Mitochondrial disease known as SUCLA2. Per her Stanford doctor, there are around 70 known cases worldwide. The disease effects her energy levels, organs, immune system, and hearing. Her prognosis was death in early childhood most likely by age 3-5 due to infection. Did I mention that she’s 14!!! We live in a small community on a nature preserve out by Lake Nacimiento in CA. She despises cities and doctors. If it was up to her, we’d never leave our community!!! Her main mode of mobility is her wheelchair. She can walk short distances with assistance. Walking her dogs to the lake is one of favorite activities. The only problem is the hills!!! This mama is getting tired of pushing approx 150lbs (Lil and her wheelchair weight) around these hills!! We need a bike!!!! I did my research!!! I found a 2 seater electric bike that can be modified just how we’d need it. It’s even made in the US!! I’m working with 2 bike companies on making this happen. The only problem is funding!!! The bike is way too expensive for us. It’s $3500!! I know crazy!! (She’s definitely worth it) We were able to put $1000 down to get the process started. Please help me put the biggest smile on our daughter’s face!!! Thanks in advance from the bottom of my heart❤️
