Dear Friends,
I never thought I would be doing this but I find myself in an awful and awkward position. I was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasized to my spine and lymph nodes and is also affecting my eyesight. I’ve had one round of radiation and one round of chemo so my battle has just begun. This is my second time fighting cancer, having lost a kidney to it 10 years ago. I am not a quitter and now have a granddaughter to inspire my fight. Cancer has affected most us and our families in one way or another, so I will keep my lengthy medical plan of care available upon request.
My family and I have made it this far by living within our means. In 1996, I almost lost my life in an auto accident. Due to surgery complications and ongoing health issues, I had to file for disability compensation which has prevented me from working in an occupation that would have provided a financial cushion. Now I find myself vulnerable and scared for the well-being of my family. I am asking for any help you can swing - medical bills will be mounting quickly and I’m not sure how Claudia and I will get it all done. Blessings and thanks to you all. Love, Matt
