Jesiah's Trisomy 18 Battle
Donation protected
I created this fundraiser for my niece Tanisha McGuire and her family. She is a single mother of two with personal and medical expenses. This is her story: I don't need to tell y'all that I don't normally do this, y'all know I'm a very private person, but this is beyond me and very much necessary. This has been one of the worst years of my life. You don't know rock bottom until you've literally hit it, and even more so as a single parent of two. At my 20 week ultrasound appointment the doctor told me that they had major concerns about my pregnancy and that I needed to see a fetal medicine specialist ASAP, so I was immediately scheduled the next day. The specialist confirmed their findings and I was told that my baby could possibly have Trisomy 18 also known as Edwards Syndrome. They told me I should've had a miscarriage early on. Then they encouraged me to go to another state and terminate my pregnancy. They told me that my child probably wouldn't make it to 37 weeks, and if he did then he would either be stillborn or only take a couple of breaths. I was seeing my doctors twice a week until my 37th week. My sun was successful delivered on September 16, 2019. They said my sun wouldn't make it past 2 weeks, but thank God my sun is now 77 days old and has already been through so much. If I would've believed the report of the doctors, my sun probably wouldn't be here today, but because I believe in the most high God, and the power that I have to change my circumstances, my sun is still here fighting the BATTLE. I've been blessed to love a beautiful soul beyond measures more and more everyday that we are given. And yet; they still have a lot to say about what they "think" my child will have to face and endure, but when I tell y'all that the most high God has NEVER failed me, I mean just that. I may not know why I was chosen to be his portal to live this human experience, but I'm going to enjoy the time that I have on this journey with him and I invite you all to join with me; with positivity, love, and support. At first I thought if I kept this a secret, the conditions would change, but Jesiah Abd-El is no secret, but a true gift to this world that should be shared throughout. I have been inspired to Raise Awareness of Trisomy 18 and Trisomy 13. These conditions automatically give most children a short life span, and often times doctors will automatically write them off; giving the children no chance at life. I give my deepest praise and blessings to the children that are out there beating the odds. My heart goes out to the families that have lost their children due to these syndromes; either during pregnancy or after birth. #Trisomy18 #raisingawareness #Trisomy13 #beware #nicumom #nicubaby #edwardssyndrome #beatingallodds #JesiahsTrisomy18Battle
