Help us buy ashly an oxygen concentrator
Donation protected
Hi everyone i am fundraising for my daughter Ashly to buy her an oxygen concentrator machine.
Ashly has been on oxygen since February because she has multiple airway obstructions resulting from her tracheomalacia and several airway reconstruction surgeries she had in may and june of this year that ended up causing respiratory failure.
In June she was also diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension which is high blood pressure of her lungs and in the last several weeks she has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She has left sided, right sided and diastolic heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
The heart failure team wants her to be on oxygen at all times to take the pressure of her right side of her heart and for the pulmonary hypertension...and she needs it for her bi-pap ventilator to sleep.
Ashly's health insurance says because her oxygen isnt below 88% for 5 minute duration they are no longer going to pay for her oxygen concentrator and providence medical supply that supplies the oxygen tanks and want to come pick it up.
The reality is when ashly walks her heart rate is about 162 bpm.
Her oxygen bounces from 87-94%
But not at a continual duration that the insurance will pay for it.
During her sleep study with the ventilator bi-pap shows she sleeps at around 90-94% and dips down to 88% for almost a minute duration and once again the insurance will not pay unless its a continous dip at one time for 5 minutes.
The doctors say she needs the oxygen but the insurance keeps denying it.
So i am asking for your help to help me purchase an oxygen concentrator.
Due to my daughter's health issues she and i travelled from oregon to cincinnati childrens hospital and she underwent medical treatment from end of January til first of July while we stayed locally. I had to go on family medical leave and couldnt work for 6 months.
Also as a school bus driver - i have just returned to work recently to help deliver food to kids in the neighborhood and working part-time. My daughter has been in the hospital for over a week regarding her heart failure and fluid volume overload.
If you can please help us purchase a machine for her.
Thank you
I am looking to purchase either
Invacare Perfecto2 V Oxygen Concentrator, 0.5 to 5 LPM Liter Per Minute
Or an inogen continual flow concentrator.
