One year ago today our lives changed forever. Dallas was involved in a devastating motor vehicle accident. He sustained life threatening injuries which put him into the intensive care unit and led to a long stay in hospital. The accident has ultimately left him with permanent physical disabilities and a traumatic brain injury which require long term neuro rehabilitation. Dallas has been in this long term rehabilitation program since June and will likely be there until Spring of 2020.
Chelsea and their two girls are now living temporarily in the same community so that their family can remain as intact as possible and so that Dallas can benefit from seeing his family every day. We believe this is critical to maximizing his recovery. In the initial stages of Dallas’s recovery his friends, families and coworkers showed their love and generosity both financially and emotionally. This support allowed Chelsea to be in hospital with Dallas for the bulk of his initial recovery and allowed for their girls to be well cared for by family. Knowing that his recovery will keep all 4 of them living away from home for another 6 months creates a new financial burden for them. In order to afford the costs of maintaining (and readying and modifying) their home in Lethbridge to be ready for Dallas’s return home, while also paying living expenses to be close to him, Dallas and Chelsea need more financial support. I hope that you will join me in supporting them through this next stage of recovery and into Dal’s transition home. Those with questions are more than welcome to reach out to me. Thank you for your love and support!
