Service Dog for Cheyenne

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Cheyenne. I am disabled and in need of your help. I was born a micro-preemie, born at only 22 weeks old. I've been through 20+ surgeries to help multiple medical issues throughout my life since my birth. One of my most recent medical battles was with sepsis, which is a life threatening bodily response to an infection that can cause tissue damage, organ failure, and death. After surviving two battles of severe sepsis, the first battle in 2017, and the second being in 2018, it left me with devastating medical problems. I am now legally blind, require a walker and a wheelchair to get around daily, faint, fall, have chronic pain, and have a host of other medical problems. I also have some psychiatric disabilities that I struggle with, those being chronic anxiety, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, and panic disorder.  Since then, living an everyday life has become a struggle for me. As some of you know, my new version of normal is needing a walker daily to get around, and a wheelchair when my chronic pain and/or fatigue gets too bad. Meet Mystique! She is a purebred Siberian husky that was bred, born, tested for service, matched with me, and is now training, all by a service dog organization called Above The Clouds Siberian Service Dogs. They are a veteran owned and run service dog organization that is located in Colorado. They specialize in raising huskies with calm temperaments for service work. Mystique will help me with multiple tasks relating to my disabilities, helping me to be more independent. She will help me navigate daily life, perform recovery techniques and deep pressure therapy. She will be able to trigger a medical alert device that sends out a signal to 911 responders that I have had a medical emergency and am unconscious, allowing them to see my GPS location to get me help. Mystique will also be able to retrieve medications, open doors, and so much more! She will truly be giving me my independence and my life back. She is passing all of her training milestones with flying colors! Her training is estimated to be completed by next year; either in the spring or summertime. Mystique will be more than just a dog. She will be my lifeline, and my best friend.  Mystique’s training will cost $6,000 to $7,000, depending on her tasks and the time she needs to learn them. I also need to raise $3,000-$4,000 for one training trip, to meet her and to train with her once her training is complete for a week to two weeks before bringing her home to Michigan. I would like to ask for your help with fundraising for this cause! You would be giving me my independence back, and giving Mystique a lifelong partnership that holds an extraordinary bond between us. Thank you so much for reading my story, sharing, and for your support!
