My name is Jennifer and I am the mom of two kids, Jake and Jasmine, that were cared for by Seema. Last week, while getting ready for Halloween, I received a call from her. She was hysterical and I struggled to understand what she was saying. She was terrified. I was able to understand that she was in an Uber with my daughter and asked her to give the phone to the driver. She was only a few minutes away from me. I called 911 and was on the street waiting for her. She was unconscious by the time she arrived, minutes later. I rode with her in the ambulance and witnessed the chaos that ensued in the hospital . A CAT scan showed that Seema had a massive stroke. Shortly after, she was in a coma and less than 24 hours later, she was gone. In Seema’s last moments, she was concerned about our children. Jasmine, our 4 year old daughter, was a witness to this in the car and our son Jake was due for pick up at school. She said, “I can’t Jake.” This is who she was. She was a beautiful, vivacious, caring and responsible nanny who knew she was in trouble and made sure our kids were safe. Seema would take Jasmine to ballet, believed the more kids over the merrier, and always cooked like we were a family of 10. She was warm, silly, and regularly said, “I live like there is no tomorrow.” Seema was 42 and had 2 teenage kids. This sudden tragedy has left her family and friends in shock. It is unimaginable. Please help us do all we can for the family. We’d like to raise money to help with funeral costs, her son’s culinary school tuition, her daughter’s upcoming sweet 16 she was always talking about...this is so, so devastating - a tragic loss.
