Whitesboro Flood Victim Bill Haddow

I started this page on behalf of my Dad - Bill Haddow and his partner Susan Minio. My dad has been a Whitestown resident for over 40 years and has been through many of these floods, but this is the first time that water has ever come into the main living space of the home. He also owns another property across the street that is a rental, and water got into that home as well. The floors are warped and all need to be pulled out, possibly both kitchens, walls where the water came up. Cleaning up all the mud inside the homes is just ridiculous. The AC unit on the rental is gone, we still aren’t sure about the heat or hot water tank. His home, we are still waiting because he needs to have his electrical box replaced. There is flood insurance on his home, but not the rental. The Premiums for flood insurance are outrageous. Even with flood insurance it doesn’t cover everything. Flood insurance will possibly cover basically anything attached to the home but not the contents or appliances. Homeowners does not cover anything because it was a flood. If the amount to fix it becomes more than what the house is appraised for, he has to come up with the difference out of pocket. The last flood really took its toll, between having to pay for the furnace, hot water tank, electrical box, just to name a few, (lost count of how many times he’s had to pay for these out of pocket) and and watching my mother who was dying of cancer dragging items to the road, it was heartbreaking and now my father has to go through this yet again. We thought that one was bad, this one was much worse. Please continue to pray for our community and for all the people this has affected. Pray for some kind of relief for these people.
