I am humbled and grateful for the messages and contributions that some of my dear friends have already made! ❤️
But I wanted to take some time to explain and show you why I’ll be back Terminator style. TMI warning: i am truly uncomfortable about putting all of my personal struggles out there but I need to swallow my pride this time to ask for help which I rarely do.
A little background if you didn’t know why I want and need a robotic arm orthosis (fancy name for a robotic prosthetic limb that is worn like an exoskeleton over my own arm). In 2013 I had a ruptured brain aneurysm ( was unconscious on my bedroom floor for two days with Rigsby lying next to me)and then during the repair procedure it induced a hemorrhagic stroke that left my non dominant arm partially paralyzed. This has limited my ability to return to work as a registered nurse or even carry a glass in each hand from room to room. Through a lot of hard work I have been able to keep some electrical activity in my muscles. Which made me a good candidate for the Myopro robotic orthosis.
You can see me using the prototype in the video below:

And if you have trouble you can contact me at [email redacted] and I will send it to you.
Sorry for the long rambling message but I wanted to fully explain before I ask for such a big favor with the the holiday season approaching, but I have been trying for a year to get this approved and it finally happened!
I did a lot of research and found the Myopro online and my physical therapists at Therafit in Towson and Ability prosthetics and orthotics were instrumental in making this happen. Despite me being a pain in the arse self advocate (shocking I know), my insurance plan kept denying the authorization and we appealed it to Medicare three times. Well finally they approved it!! Now I don’t need your help selling a kidney on the black market because the device is 65,500. Thankfully my brain surgery last month put me at my near out of pocket maximum. So now my co insurance is 2118.67. I have the 8.67 covered but could use your help with the rest. If everyone on my friends list could help me out with $3-5 this would allow me to get this life changing device! I was able to straighten my elbow and pick my phone up off the floor for the first time since 2013! The brain is amazing and they believe the nerves are neuroplastic meaning the nerves that were damaged from my brain injury could be reprogrammed through the use of the Myopro and a lot more therapy and hard home exercises I may be able to regain use of my arm even when I am not wearing the device. I go to Rockville this Wednesday, November 6th for the fitting for the Myopro and then should have it in two weeks. Then we can hit the professional arm wrestling circuit
I won’t know the financial specifics of my obligation until Monday morning when Ability reopens, but just wanted to get it on your radar . If you made it this far then you are an awesome friend! . Love you longtime!
