1st Grader Myah's Brain Surgery
Donation protected
1st grader Myah is sweet, curious, and adorable (pictured in her "fun sweater" for school spirit week in 2019). Myah had to undergo brain/spinal surgery this past Wednesday to remove a cavernous hemangioma (cavernoma), a type of benign vascular tumor.
Myah and her sister Addie both have a congenital condition that causes multiple cavernomas/lesions to form on the brain. Myah has had to repeat her pre-school classes due to suffering from a bleed in 2019, and had two bleeds this past week before the doctors decided she needed an emergency procedure to remove the largest cavernoma causing the bleeds.
Her sister has been struggling with seizures, including a terrifying kind called "absent seizures" that are harder to detect due to lack of physical response. The morning Myah was rushed to the ER, her sister Addie began to suffer from another seizure.
Due to the pandemic, their family has been struggling financially and currently do not have health insurance to aid in the essential procedures and medical care needed to treat the condition.
The two girls deserve to live comfortably and be treated for a condition they did not choose to inherit. Please help the girls get the treatment they need!
