"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

Meet Jesus. Follow Jesus.

They Have Been Waiting

In the Deaf communities of Quintana Roo and Yucatán, Mexico, most people have never worshipped in sign language. Many have never met another Deaf Christian. Some have never encountered the Gospel at all — not because they rejected it, but because no one ever reached them in their language.

That is the gap we are stepping into.

The Man Behind This Mission

Rev. Cheol Hee Lee, senior pastor of New York Deaf Church, is a hearing pastor from Korea who has given 40 years of his life to Deaf ministry — serving Deaf communities across Korea, China, and Mexico as a missionary with the Assemblies of God (A/G).

In May 2026, he founded Iglesia de Sordos de Cancún — the Cancún Deaf Church — to plant the first sign language-based Christian community in eastern Mexico. This retreat is the first gathering of that mission.

The church is supported by New York Deaf Church (뉴욕농아인교회), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Flushing, New York.

What Is Happening This June

1st Eastern Mexico Deaf Christian Retreat
June 25–28, 2026 · 4 days, 3 nights
KGMA Mexico Mission Center · Leona Vicario, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Deaf individuals and families from across Quintana Roo and Yucatán will gather — many for the very first time — for four days of worship, teaching, and community.

- Worship services entirely in sign language
- Bible teaching based on Mexican Sign Language (LSM)
- Sign language classes for participants
- Children's programs in Korean and English
- Shared meals, games, talent show, and fellowship

Every participant takes home Bible study materials, evangelism resources, and sign language guides.

Here Is How You Fit In

You don't have to travel to Mexico to be part of what God is doing there.

When you give, you are putting food on the table for a Deaf family, placing a Bible study guide in someone's hands for the first time, or making it possible for a participant to attend who otherwise could not afford to come.

For some of these families, this will be the first time in their lives they have worshipped alongside people who speak their language.

You can be the reason that happens.
