My Mother, Ursula Barrett has been a enriching person in so many people’s lives. She has been an elementary school teacher at Lake Dallas independent school district for 20 plus years and has recently started her own business helping other people fall back in love with their homes with Ursula’s Refurnishing’s. She has been a hard working women dedicated to helping others and their children better their lives. Now she is the one needing help to hopefully get her life back. Last week she went to the emergency room because she started coughing up large amounts of blood. After days of testing we discovered she has stage 4 metastatic lung cancer and it has spread to her Brain. They are starting treatment right away and she’s doing everything in her power to fight this horrible disease. Unfortunately this disease will keep her from working for the foreseeable future, cancer doesn’t care about real life. The cost of treatment, hospital bills, and her regular bills are adding up very quickly and with no way to work she will shortly have no way to help cover the cost of these bills. Our family is asking for your help to ensure she can keep fighting and not lose everything else in the process. As a teacher you can only miss a certain amount of days, while she will hopefully be getting FMLA that will only cover the cost of her bills for so long.
