Help bring Afghan US interpreter and family to US
Donation protected
My husband, 36 year US Army retired 1st Sgt Gerald Keen was deployed in Afghanistan in 2016. While there he met and became close friends with an Afghan national who was serving the US Army as an interpreter.
Before returning to the US we signed on to be the sponsor for Rahim's visa to come to the US. As part of his service to the US military, he had been promised an expedited visa process.
We are now in 2021 and Rahim and his beautiful wife and family of 4 children (and one on the way) are still waiting for the US to keep that promise. We are not sharing his photo on this page now to protect his safety as the Taliban is killing Afghan nationals every day who supported the US troops. His life is at risk every single day in ways we cannot comprehend.
With US troop withdrawal imminent we are anxious to bring them home to live with us. We are hopeful they will get word to complete the visa process in the next few weeks.
We are asking for help to cover the medical exam expenses that each family member will need to complete the visa process. We are also asking for help to cover the cost of flight and travel to bring them from Afghanistan to Grand Haven MI where they will live with us.
We have become a family over the last 5 years. Having them home with us is our greatest desire.
Bringing them home safely is our daily prayer.
Thank you for your help!
