Making a difference My entire life all I ever wanted to really do was help animals. I found Lucky’s and my life changed. To see the difference you can make to all these dogs if you just put in a bit of effort has changed my outlook on everything. I strongly believe that everyone should at least do something for a cause they believe in and animal welfare is mine. After thinking long and hard over the last few months, I’ve decided I need to make a change on a bigger scale, or at least try. We react to the problems on the streets and save the ones we can but it’s now time to proactively change what’s happening there. I’ve decided that change lies in a spay and neuter programme and have started speaking with an amazing charity called IAPWA who are setting up a programme in Romania to spay/neuter as many dogs as possible as well as educating the people on animal welfare. One unneutered dog on the streets can have up to 3 litters a year, the average litter size is 6 puppies. In one year that is 18 unneutered dogs, if half are female, that’s 9 dogs having 3 litters each which equals 162 dogs... extrapolate that by years and years and this is where Romania is now. I will still continue to do what I do with Lucky’s but how can I ignore this and not try to make a difference? I’m going to be going out in December to help this charity spay/neuter as many dogs as possible and build a shelter for them to be comfortable in over winter when temperatures drop as low as -20. What do I need from you? The two things I need is money and man power. Can you spare a few days at the beginning of December to come with me to Romania and help this project? Can you spare £20? £20 is what it costs to neuter and vaccinate one dog! Can you believe that?! £20 to save the lives of so many... just think that 1 dog in 2 years time would be 171... we can stop that happening with £20.
