Our Family Could Use Your Help

Donation protected
My Name is Shekinah, and this is my Daddy Booker T Wallace Jr. U.S. Air-Force Vietnam Vet, Pastor, Husband of 40 years, Father of 9 Children ( I am the youngest), Grandfather of 30+ children/young adults, brother and friend. On August 30, 2019, while attending his grandson’s (Sr. Yr) high school football game he suffered a massive stroke from a blood clot in an artery in his brain. My father was immediately rushed by squad to the nearest emergency room then immediately to the operating room for brain surgery. After several attempts, the surgeon assigned to my father advised they were only able to retrieve a small percentage of the clot in his brain, therefore the stroke continued for approximately 4 days after the initial evening. My father stayed in the ICU for 4 1/2 weeks, being heavily monitored until he was able to regain full consciousness. Per his Neuro team Drs, the stroke itself damaged over 40% of his brain (almost the entire right side) and he has shown complete paralysis on the left side of his body. On October 1, 2019, he was released from the hospital and admitted to an in-patient skilled nursing facility, on October 9, 2019, he was transported back to the same hospital due to his continued need for medical care, his inability to eat by mouth ( attempted feeding tube placement doctors were unable to insert), dehydration, and the excruciating pain that my father is in as well as the nursing facilities inability to handle the demand of his needs. Today is October 15, 2019. My father is getting his speech back (we struggle to understand him sometimes), neurologically, his thoughts are short and quick. He recalls certain past moments, he believes he still lives and is in OK (he’s resided in Ohio since 2007). He knows who his children and some grandchildren are, can recognize some church family and extended family and is making small strides each day. He has been the Superman of this family (Our Real Life Hero) from the beginning and we are doing our best to figure out what all came so naturally for my Dad and pick up the shattered pieces. As you know, when life happens, life doesn’t stop... I am trying to help maintain my parent’s household, daily living and the medical expenses that are not covered. We are expected to have a long road of recovery ahead of us. As the expenses keep adding up, ANYTHING HELPS! If you knew my father personally, you know he knew no stranger, spent his entire life serving people and making sure everyone else was ok. We are very grateful for my father’s life, and we are believers that the Lord will make a way. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, kindness and generosity. May God Bless each and every one of you that took the time to read my request.
