Supporting Kenneth Zeltner Fight Against Cancer

In March of 2019 my father Kenneth Zeltner was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. MM is a type of blood cancer that affects the plasma cells and bone marrow. In Multiple Myeloma, malignant plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow. Kenneth was 61 at the time of his diagnoses. He is a husband, a father of 5, and a grandfather of 3.
He was admitted to Jeane's Hospital in Philadelphia, PA following the recommendation of his Nephrologist at Fox Chase Cancer Center. During his time at Jeane's hospital he had to undergo a stem cell transplant, followed by chemo therapy treatment. During the course of his chemo therapy he developed a severe infection which required large doses of heavy duty antibiotics. Unfortunately the antibiotics caused damage to his kidneys which required him to go on dialysis. In addition to severe kidney damage he also developed neuropathy in his hands and feet. Due to the neuropathy he is pretty much bed ridden, not only has this disease taken a toll on his physical health it has also affected his mental health. Since diagnosis Kenny has lost 80 lbs.
In August the insurance Ken had through his employer ended, it forced him into having to pay for COBRA insurance which is extremely costly. All donations will be going towards medical bills and helping pay the monthly insurance premium. In addition there will be a beef and beer held in his honor at the North Penn VFW in Glenside PA.
