As many of you know, mom has been battling cancer since April. Her particular cancer is called Acute Myeloid Leukemia. It’s a type of blood cancer. After having gone through 4 rounds of Chemo, one round of radiation and a stem cell transplant she is cancer free with a completely different immune system. Unfortunately, her body seems to be failing her after having gone through so much. There is a chance she can make it through this, we just don’t know yet. We are trying to get her home, closer to family. To do this we are looking at flying her home on a LifeMed “back haul” flight. This is when someone has been flown down to Seattle for some sort of emergency and now the plane needs to head back up to Alaska. They allow people to fly back on these flights, but the cost is around $15,000. Once she is up here she will be admitted to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital or the Denali Center. Any help with this cost is greatly appreciated.
