My brother Gerardo Tadeo Rojas also known as Teddy lost his battle with cancer (leukemia) on October 4, 2019. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 2014 and it was a shock to my whole family. Even though he had this illness he didn’t slow down. He went on to graduate college for medical assistance and medical billing & coding. He was starting to feel myself again and was cancer free for 3 years. In 2018 a week after I graduate high school we found out that his cancer came back for a second time. It was so devastating to us because we thought this war with cancer was over but it was only the beginning of a rough time. He was gonna drive me to college but I had to drive him to his doctor appointments. Still he kept on fighting because he wanted to live his life.

My mom took care of my brother she would spend weeks and months in a hospital. She had to quit her job to take of my brother. My dad was the only source of income. My brother loved music and singing. I would always hear his beautiful voice coming from his room now I’ll never be able to hear it again. He loved Ariana Grande, every time she would come to Phoenix he would always buy himself and I tickets because he knew how much I love Ariana and wanted to make me happy. He only wanted to make his family and I happy. He is remembered as being a fighter and lover of life. He never complained about having this illness even though he was suffering a lot.

We are absolutely devastated by Teddy’s passing and are struggling to find the funds to cover the cost of the service. Funeral plans are still being arranged.
