My dads name is Tim. He has recently been diagnosed with a rare CSF leak. My dad has always been actively in our lives and tried to help our family anyway he can. As of early August he can’t do anything. He is laying flat on a bed unable to complete any type of task with out extreme pain. A CSF leak is through a defect in the dura or the skull and out through the nose or ear. It is hole or tear in the dura, the outermost layer of the meninges. This causes leakage and has confined him to the bed. No work, no life at all. This could go on for years and I don’t want to lose years with him that could be spent doing something productive! He has too much pride to ask for help and is just as stubborn to ask for it so I will do it for him. Doctors shy away from surgery here because it is risky and so rare that very few are comfortable doing a procedure. I would like to surprise him with a trip to California where there is a neurosurgeon who specializes in this area. I’m not asking for chucks of money but a few dollars here and there helps! I appreciate anything anyone can give. I know I appreciate it as well as my family. Thank you
