Madeline Joyner’s MHS Homecoming Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Madeline Joyner, and on October 17th, 2016, I lost my cousin Christopher Evers to suicide. I felt so incredibly numb and alone that day, not wanting to believe the truth. Some of my family has never recovered, others have learned to live with the fact that he was gone. But I want to make sure no one silently suffers when they need the help of the people around them. That’s why I’m supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I want to remind my family, my school, and my community that they are unconditionally loved, cherished, valued, and worthy of happiness. No one should believe that suicide is their only way out. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. In memory of Christopher, I desire to make it known that suicide is not the answer, and that there are people there to help, no matter how helpless the situation may seem.
