My name is Dietra Kelsey, I am raising money for my Gospel Musical, "WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON?", about gang violence and gun violence. We want to spread the message that the Gang Life is not the answer.
Reverend Ermine Johnson asked me to write a play about gang violence. I wrote it and gave it to him to present at his church, Greater Harvest Baptist Church, in Washington, D.C. However, a year later, he made his transition. Out of his memory, I decided to produce the play, "WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON?".
Synopsis
This is a dynamic and spirited gospel musical about gang violence based in Washington D.C. Lamont Spencer witness his father's killing at the age of 12. At 16 years old, Lamont must decide to stay with the gang who revenged his father's death or seek salvation in the church where he attended. Lamont must answer the question "WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON?"
