Stray Hearts Animal Shelter of Taos ( strayhearts.org ) is a no-kill animal shelter and adoption facility.   In 2018 over 1435 animals were taken in to the shelter.  Most of these animals are not neutered and many are sick or injured.
Our shelter is in low income state that does not
enforce spay/neuter laws and where feral dogs and cats are a common sight. 

Until now, we have relied on the generosity of donors at numerous fund raising events throughout the year to keep the shelter running.  This method of income is labor intensive and unpredictable. We
are always struggling to keep our doors open to continue our efforts to serve the animals of Taos County and surrounding areas.  We badly need a new revenue stream so that we can become more self-sustaining.

We are raising money for start up costs in order to open a resale store and a cat cafe, both of which are proven methods of steady income for nonprofits and animal shelters.  

We are calling the store ReTails!  We have a comprehensive business
plan and we are ready to launch.  In order to do this without having any impact on the funds needed for the animals of the shelter, we need
your donation.
