Meredith Hunnicutt cheered on the Dawgs for three football seasons until the first game of her senior year. She had a seizure on the football field. Doctors told Hunnicutt that she had a condition called "pseudo-tumor," or false brain tumor. The symptoms are similar to having a real tumor. (13 Wmaz; Ensley Nichols) With this condition, you are required to have a shunt, and it drains the fluid build up from around your brain. Meridith has been through countless surgeries with defective shunts and other problems related to this condition. This past week, Meredith went into the hospital only to find out she was going to have another defective shunt removed and replaced. While in the hospital, her 6th surgery was postponed because she contracted MRSA in her spinal fluid. Meredith is still in the hospital fighting this battle with MRSA. When it clears up, they will put the new shunt in. She will be in the hospital for some time, so the medical and personal expenses will pile up. With her being out of college, and her parents having to take time off of work to stay with her, we don’t want anymore burdens on the family. Any donations will go directly to the family so they can spend time with Meredith. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated!! Thankyou!
