Dear Family and Friends, I am Jerry Moore’s sister and I am starting this campaign to help raise funds for Jerry’s medical expenses. Jerry became ill and was admitted to the hospital in late August for breathing issues. He was found to have fluid around his lung. They placed a tube surgically in his lung to drain it and he was released from ICU after several days. Jerry ended up back in Intensive Care only a few days later with a serious bacterial infection. He had several complications including fluid around his lung and around his heart which required two surgeries. They removed several drains on Friday only to have another set back the next day. A hole was discovered in his lung along with air pockets that developed and this required another drain to be inserted in his side surgically. At this we are unsure when he will be able to be released. Once he is released he will need intervenious antibiotics for several weeks with a at home care nurse or at a nursing facility for recovery from what we have been told thus far.
