ER Vet Bills for Watson

Donation protected
Watson is a 2 year old pembroke welsh corgi who, for his entire life, has never had any medical issues and has been a happy, healthy puppy. A couple days ago, Watson started vomiting for no apparent reason. He was examined by our vet, who ran blood tests and took X-rays. The bloodwork was essentially normal, but they were a bit puzzled by the X-rays. They couldn’t see anything wrong with him other than the fact he had lost a significant amount of weight. They gave him a few shots and said to put him on a sensitive stomach dog food. If he continued to vomit, we were to bring him back. He seemed to be fine until that night when he threw up again and couldn’t eat or drink anything and became so weak he couldn’t even finish walking a block. The next morning he we went back to the vet, where they repeated the X-rays. Comparing them to the previous days X-rays, they could see that his stomach was filled with water but did see something stuck in his stomach and he must get surgery to save his life. When he was taken to the animal hospital, they said that the scan showed a lot of fluids in his stomach that had to be removed in order for him to have surgery. To do this they would drain the fluids overnight and do the surgery in the morning. The next morning though I got a phone call they drained the fluid but somehow the stomach filled up again. They couldn’t say why this was happening. Because of this delay it has caused more stress on myself and my family and more expenses to keep him in the hospital. The surgery was finally performed today and it was found Watson somehow ingested a corncob but is doing fine now and is coming home Wednesday, September 25. Watson has touched the hearts of everyone he met from students at the University of Hartford, to strangers he passed on the sidewalk, to his Instagram followers. When they told me the cost of the surgery I nearly had a heart attack since I can barely afford the surgery, but I knew I had to do it because I couldn’t lose my best friend. Please donate what you can and please share so my best friend can get the help he needs!
