I am a 52 year old single dad with 5 kids (2 still at home with me) who was diagnosed with young onset Parkinsons Disease 14 years ago. I was a professional photographer and video producer but that career (30 years) came to an abrupt end as my body continued to degenerate. My strong spiritual faith in God, plus my family and friends have been my support through this difficult time. I am young enough to benefit from a new surgical procedure for Parkinsons patients called DBS. (Deep Brain Stimulation) This new surgery has a high success rate in restoring many of the motor skills that PD has taken from me. My surgery date is March 21st and my insurance does not cover the complete cost of the operation. Hopefully I can raise the balance here on this site. A successful operation should put a camera back in my non-shaking hands and the ability to provide an income for myself and my children.
