Todd's Emergency Accident
Donation protected
On behalf of Todd, one of our extremely close family friends I am creating this go fund me page. Todd has had an emergency accident. Below the accident and situation is explained by his partner Susie.
We were camping yesterday for a one night 300th run anniversary of our running group. We had just set up our campsite and he was playing Frisbee. He leaned into catch the Frisbee and fell into a charcoal stationary grill. He has a 7 inch laceration (in total length) from the corner of his right eye up 4 inches diagonally to the center of his forehead and then about 3 inches horizontally across to top of his forehead. I ran over and assessed the wound and knew immediately he need medical attention. Fortunately there were several friends that were medical professionals camping with us that helped him directly after the accident and kept him stable and calm until the ambulance and paramedics arrived. He received fluids and pain medications in en route to NHRMC and was seen immediately when he arrived, although it was a total ER visit of about 6 hours. Dr. Ott in the ER assessed and cleaned his wound as much as possible, but determined that the wound was too large for stitches without anesthesia and advised that we return today for plastic surgery. The nurses used sterile-strips to keep the wound sealed for over night and now we are NHRMC for plastic surgery this morning waiting on the surgeon. Todd works for a private marine construction group that is very small, so his company does not have insurance. As of right now they are saying he could be out of work for 10 days In all likelihood he will be out of work for at least a month depending on this procedure, swelling, sensitivity to light, and just overall healing time. Todd will have a post-operative appointment after 10 days to assess the process of healing.
Friends, As you can imagine without insurance medical bills are climbing at a rather rapid rate, medications he will have to take to prevent infection and treat his pain are also going to be a necessity. They just moved into a new place that does not have a fully functioning kitchen at the moment as they were working to remodel it, any one who is willing to help provide them with some prepared meals would be incredible.
Any donations will go straight to Todd to provide financial relief during this strenuous time.
Thank you.
