Dear Family, Friends, Friends of FriendsOn September 7, 2019, early in the morning around 6:00 am, Darius was home in his bed. Myself (Tess Juarez: his wife) woke up and saw Darius shaking almost out of breath. I screamed and was calling his name out loud and saw Darius really out of breath. I managed to call 911 but I had to perform CPR to keep his heart pumping until the emergency personnel arrived. He was taken immediately to SunnyBrook Hospital with the diagnosis of a heart attack and it was discovered that he had a bleed in his brain. He is in critical condition fighting for his life in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit with an unknown prognosis for recovery. Chances of recovery are not known.
This GoFundMe page is to raise funds to assist with possible recovery-related expenses as well as to financially assist Darius, Tess and their 2 kids due to the loss of both their incomes. Darius and the two kids are now in Canada and I have taken time off from work and will continue to do so to help my husband and my kids. The major end goal is to take away any financial impact, so I may concentrate on my husband and kids. What will be needed is still unknown as his chances of recovery are unknown.
It will be a long road ahead and any amount of support is welcomed and incredibly appreciated.
