Donovan McCoy is a brave young man with health conditions that require 24/7 care, including epilepsy, severe non-verbal autism, and a very rare liver disorder. The liver disorder causes masses to grow in his liver, any of which can become life-threatening. One of these has grown quite large and requires aggressive treatment now. In August, Donovan was admitted for two procedures, which went okay, but a perfect storm of complications led to a prolonged hospitalization. He has just been released from the ICU, but is still hospitalized due to complications and they don’t know yet when he may be released or what his needs for care at home will be. Because Donovan’s need require 24/7 care, Cindy has been unable to earn enough income, so her life savings have been depleted. With Donovan’s care needs and medical appointments being even more than usual these past 3 months, Cindy is unable to meet her financial obligations. We want to help alleviate Cindy’s financial strain so that she can save her mental energy for Donovan’s care and her own needs. The fundraising goal is $1200, which will keep the car paid for (vital for them to get to appointments) and cover around one month of utilities.
