Prayers for Caden
Donation protected
On Friday, September 6, 2019, the Houriet Family's life was turned upside down. 18 year old Caden found himself having difficulty breathing that afternoon, ultimately lost consciousness and went into cardiac arrest. His girlfriend, Chloe, was with him at the time and called 911. When the paramedics arrived, they had to perform CPR and revive him. The amount of time Caden went without oxygen is unknown at this time. Upon arriving to the hospital, Caden was put on Life Support.
This has all been so surreal and impossible to believe. A few things we do know, is that Caden had been vaping, has asthma, and had RSV (a cold). This combination created "the perfect storm" on this particular day.
Caden has had severe allergies his whole life, most significantly to peanuts and shellfish. Aside from that, he is a healthy young man who truly enjoys skateboarding, and spending time with his girlfriend. His older brother, Colton (19), and younger brother, Cale (15), have been by his side, along with his parents Jean Pierre and Cara, and many family and friends. He is strong and young... and that gives us hope!
He was baptized while in the hospital, joined by his little brother, Cale and his girlfriend, Chloe. God has been very present in the midst of this storm.
We appreciate your interest as well as your words of hope and encouragement. This will be so helpful and will remind the family that we are all here for them, that they are loved and have great support system.
Caden desperately needs our love, positivity and our prayers for a full recovery from this tragic event, resulting in brain injury.
Many have asked how they can help. With so much time being spent at the hospital right now, meals will be much planned at a later date when more time is being spent at home.
We have set up this GoFundMe account where monetary donations can be made to help the Houriet Family directly during this difficult time. Obviously, not only will medical bills pile up, but this situation will also keep them from being able to work, as they need to be at Caden's side continuously until he stabilizes and to best understand his needs, progress and care. Truly, any financial support will help take a bit of the load off... at least in this area.
Thank you for visiting the site, and know that your love, support and prayers are so appreciated!
Hugs, Faith and Hope ~
