Our dear friend Ayasha

Three months after I moved to New York my appendix bursted the day before my birthday. I moved up here not knowing anyone, but just started to befriend my new coworkers at Rocking Horse Cafe. One in particular was the first to come visit me at the hospital way out in Brooklyn. This person was the beautiful and caring Ayasha. She then went on to help organize an envelope to help raise money for me missing so much work and had it delivered to me at the hospital on my birthday. This kind gesture from someone that i’ve only known for three months provided me the funds and friendship that I needed to conquer this “big scary city”. As most of you know Ayasha has been back and forth to Tennessee this past month to visit her father in the hospital. She has missed a bunch of work which as we all know pretty rough when you are working in the restaurant industry, as well as purchasing several plane tickets. Yesterday was her birthday and I just wanted to reach out to her loved ones and try to gift her a birthday present that I would imagine to be very helpful in a time like this, a rent check. Ayasha is one of the sweetest people I know, and i’m sure you all can agree that she has been there for you in a rough time. Anything helps! And I know she will still want to celebrate her birthday when she gets back so hopefully I’ll see most of you then!
