Hi my name is Blake and this is my moms story. Saturday, September 7th, my baby brother Elijah’s 3rd birthday. My mom (Misty Braun) wakes up with a major headache but she manages and we celebrate with cake at the end of the day, open presents and chill out. Then we go to bed. Sunday, September 8th, I wake up at 8 am to screaming from my moms room. It was my mom screaming “No”. I hear my baby brother crying so I automatically think something happened to him. Then my brother and sisters dad goes into the room and she’s on the floor screaming and rocking back and forth. There was no life in her eyes. I immediately called 911 and they came and asked questions while evaluating her. She gets transferred to the ICU ASAP. I was picked up and brought to my uncles on steamboat island with one of my brothers and my little brother and sister get picked up by their grandparents. I spend the day there getting more and more information as the day goes and I sit waiting for my grandmother to get to town because she lives in Kennewick. My grandma gets me and my brother and we go to the hospital to see my mom. We get there at about 9 pm and they are getting her lines clamped to transfer her to the MRI room to take an MRI. Then the doctor comes and tells us what happened. My mom had seizures through the night and one of the main arteries in the back of her neck was weak and it ruptured. That caused bleeding in her brain. They shaved the top of her head and drilled a hole to install a drain to drain the blood and fluids. She is now on life support and in an induced coma. She had surgery late last night (Sunday night) to block the artery to prevent another rupture and more bleeding in her brain. Now she will be in the ICU for at least 2 weeks on close watch to make sure she doesn’t have a stroke, because if she does, she’ll die. We still don’t know if there was brain damage or not and we won’t know until she gets let out of the coma. My family would appreciate as much financial support as possible. She is the soul provider for me and my brothers and sister. Thank you so much for sticking around to read this whole thing. We all have hope she’ll pull through.
