I’m so sorry to report that Mike passed away this morning. ❤️ I know that Mike appreciated the generosity of everyone who contributed. Mike’s family still needs our support. Please contribute if you haven’t done so already. And please send prayers for Mike and his family. Mike was diagnosed with Lupus 7 months ago.  Lupus is a life threatening autoimmune disease that turns the body against itself causing severe rashes, pain in the joints and bones, deterioration of the heart and failure of the kidneys.  Mike was in intensive care for 3 weeks and remained in the hospital for 2 months.  He is currently in a rehabilitation facility in Amherst, NY.  He has gone through heart failure, kidney failure and extreme pain.  Mike is currently unable to walk.  He needs kidney dialysis 3 days a week, or his kidneys will shut down.   He requires special medical transportation to his kidney dialysis.  He requires physical therapy five days a week.  While Mike is fortunate to have some medical insurance, the insurance does not pay many of the costs of Mike’s care.  The dialysis is only partially funded. His physical therapy has stopped because insurance has refused to pay.  Mike needs this therapy to regain his strength to get out of bed and use a wheelchair. Many of his lupus medications are not fully paid.  Mike and Wanda now have an overwhelming medical debt.   

 Mike is a hard-working family man who was a manager at Johnson’s Country Store for most of his life.  Mike’s wife, Wanda is a teacher’s aide in the NY public school system.  They have two children.  If you know Mike, you know him to be a soft spoken, kind and very generous person.  Mike and Wanda have exhausted their savings.  Mike has always prided himself on being self-sufficient but now he needs our help.
