For those that do not know me, I am Sandra Mozingo, mother of Angela Ayers, and the Grammy of Tyson Ayers. I am also the one who has been posting information on Tyson as often as I could. A recent high school graduate, Tyson was working for Eastern Emergency Equipment, had a good job doing what he loved, working on vehicles. Mechanics was his favorite class in high school. An accident at work caused gasoline to be spilled on him and he burst in flames, was badly burned from the waist up, with 2nd, 3rd, and some places more than 3rd degrees. He was airlifted to the UNC Burn Center ICU where he has had a five hour surgery already with grafting done. For the last few days he has been treated for an infection. He will stay in the burn center for around 6 weeks if he has no complications. His day is filled with daily bath and fresh bandages, PT, OT, sometimes twice, and walking. Each activity ups the pain. He has had a feeding tube because his throat was swollen and burned, making it hard to eat. Even after going home he must have bandages changed, PT, OT, etc continue. Doctor says it will take s good year for total healing. The reason for this funding request is because my daughter needs help! She is more stressed than I have ever seen her and a big part of that is wondering how she will feed her family and pay her bills. Let me explain. Angela is a single mom. She is a fantastic mom! She will need to stay by Tyson of course and she will be learning how to care for him when he comes home. Angela has two other children. Her middle child has Aspergers and has special needs. Her daughter is 15 and has been dealing with seizures for 5 years due to a brain tumor. She has had many hospital tests and stays to find how to best treat it. Kelsee had brain surgery at Duke last July to remove the tumor. They could only get 2/3 so she has to go see a tumor specialist this month to try to shrink it as this part grows faster and close to her optic nerve. So Angela is so stressed. She is going through things a mother should never have to do. And pulled in so many ways, while worrying how she will pay her bills. Angela is a teacher and just started back to school. She is having to take a leave of absence without pay, and not sure when she can return. We have all exhausted our savings to provide rooms and board for long hospital stays, and haven’t had a chance to build anything back up, when this happened. Several people have asked me if someone was going to do a Go Fund Me as they know the situation and wanted to help. Our hearts are broken. I am doing this to help my daughter be able to stay afloat during this difficult, heartbreaking time. If we together can establish a fund to help with gas, food, and bills , this will take a big part of her anxiety and stress away, and focus on her children . She has enough on her plate with that. I want to thank everyone who has prayed for Tyson. I thank everyone who will help if they can. I want to thank the outpouring of love and support from so many people.
