Last night; my sister, her husband and my nieces came home to find their home completely and totally destroyed by a house fire. They lost everything... every bit of clothing, every household item they have worked so hard to accumulate, every treasured photo and most difficult of all, their two dogs and bird. My sister and brother-in-law have had to work very hard to accumulate everything they had and have now lost. This was a loss that will not be easily gained back by this family. My nieces are young and not only lost the comfort of their home, the stuffed animals they cuddled at night, their pets who were a part of their family... but the ability to just relax and be children for a while. My youngest niece Bella just started Kindergarten this year and was excited as could be. Brooklyn has the brightest smile you will ever see and is kind to her core. And Keerstyn... she has this special place in my heart. She was the only grandchild my mom got to meet and be a grandma to before she passed. This fire will mean completely starting over. This fire will mean taking time off work and loss of much needed income. This fire will mean three little girls knowing loss far beyond their years. Anything you could do to help my family start over and give my nieces a sense of comfort would be beyond appreciated. Although every part of me wants to save the day for my sister and my nieces, I know I cannot do it alone.
