Becky’s Colon Cancer Fund

Donation protected
Just over a week ago, our dear friend, Becky Arthur, was diagnosed with Stage III Colon Cancer. This news is obviously shocking and comes only 8 weeks after giving birth to her third child. She is overflowing with quick wit, unbridled laughter, and brings joy to anyone that enters her space- she is a LIGHT. Becky is a friend to anyone with whom she makes eye contact and it’s near impossible to walk away from a conversation with her without feeling just a little bit lighter. More than anything, Becky wants the name and beauty of Christ to be shown through this trial and God to be glorified above all!

Becky demonstrates her love for Jesus and others in so many tangible ways. She serves moms in our church and community, sings on the worship team, councils and volunteers at Vision of Hope (a ministry to women ages 14+ needing help and hope while facing life-altering challenges). She constantly POURS out into others and now it is our turn to love and give to her and her family just as she would.

On August 28th, 2019, Becky had a PET scan and will get her results in the next day or two. For the next 6 weeks, she will undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment, a 4-5 week window of recovery, surgery, more recovery time and then another 4 months of chemotherapy, on top of extensive genetic testing.

While they are thankful to have insurance that will cover most of the medical expenses, there are several other needs that will require attention. Becky and Dave have an extremely YOUNG family; Ellis (8 weeks), Remi (2), and Lane (4). Becky’s main focus has been a stay at home mom to these precious kids. As you can imagine, making sure that their children are safe and loved is a top priority, along with Becky’s care. Because of this, we want to hire consistent caregivers for the children, while Becky is at home with them recovering,  so it can put the whole family at ease during long treatment windows and through many doctor appointments.

In addition, they will be completely revamping their diet as she enters treatment.  This transition will be fairly costly. Childcare ($10.50/hr), medical expenses ($5,500+/yr), food ($200+/wk) and ancillary costs (gas, prescriptions, etc.) will be their primary needs at this time.

As a family of young children myself, I can imagine the sudden fears about finances that would come if I were facing the same trial that they have ahead of them. What a blessing we can be to help remove any worry by way of supporting them at this time and freeing up their energy to fight this cancer!

Thank you to any and all who donate! Every penny, every prayer, every gesture of support counts. Becky, Dave, the kids and all of us who love them appreciate your kindness and generosity. We praise God for His provision both now and in the weeks ahead!

If you would like to donate to her directly through Venmo, please do so using her name - @bexarthur - otherwise, we are so appreciative for your donation here!
