We lost our good friend and brother Merih Tekeste Habtom unexpectedly August 24, 2019. Our goal is to Return him to his homeland of Eritrea, where he was born.
He left home from Eritrea at the age of 17. He lived at the refugee camp in Ethiopia called Shme Alba in 2005 and five years later came to the United State of America in 2010. His first stop was Baton Rouge, Louisiana with a few other Eritrean Refugees. One year later he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to reunite with his childhood friends until his passing day.
He was a family man, God fearing, humble, a kind man with a big heart always giving and caring for others. He was wise beyond his years. He loved to cook, shop, eat out and hang with friends, He was someone who jokes a lot, and laughs from the heart, a hard worker. He loves to make his own way, never asked for a penny from others, his pride was too much for all of us around him! He loved movies, watching sports, and enjoyed the outdoors! He was full of joy with a big heart, big dreams and plans he left behind.
The only family he has in the United States are US his Fellow Eritrean family. His mother (Roma) and family are back in Eritrea. His mother’s wish is for him to be buried in Asmara, Eritrea. This is the reason for this Go Fund Me page. We wish to full fill his mothers desire to send him to Eritrea so she can say her goodbye to her son. Please donate whatever you can to help transport him to Eritrea.
All donations will go directly to his family and cost of funeral/transporting him to Eritrea. We thank you and appreciate your donations.
