My Mom’s Battle
Donation protected
Hey, everyone..
This morning my family lost my mom to cancer. She was diagnosed with Stage IV bile duct cancer in late February and it’s been an uphill battle for us ever since that day. I’m relieved and also deeply saddened to say that she’s finally no longer suffering and she was able to pass peacefully in her sleep.
After her diagnosis we did everything in our power to stop the cancer from growing; but the infections kept coming back and becoming stronger than the previous one. By the end of June, my mom’s body had become so weak that chemotherapy was no longer an option and we were referred to palliative care at the Agapé Hospice.
Despite the facts given to us by the doctors, our family tried every possible option that was offered to us; from Japanese mushroom medication to electric acupuncture therapy, with the most recent session being just last night. We exhausted all our options as per her wishes and delayed the planning of her funeral, in hopes of a miracle. Turns out the only miracle that was given to us was simply her existence and for that we are forever grateful.
My mom is leaving behind her legacy with us, her family, and to carry on the positive energy and the kindness she always exonerated. She was a younger sister to nine other siblings who she loved so dearly, a supporting wife to my hardworking father and the greatest mom ever to myself and my older brother, Jimmy. She was the sweetest woman I’ve ever known. We all miss her terribly and are deeply saddened by the chain of events that happened this year. I feel lost and absolutely heartbroken. It’s hard to imagine a world where I can’t even come home to her arms on my worst days. What I would do to hear her sweet voice again.. My mom was truly my hero. She fought a tough battle and suffered to stay as long as she could with us. She taught us to be strong during hardships like these and from everything she has shown us, I know that we’ll make it out of this tough obstacle, together.. someday.
We’d like to ask for the help from our friends and anyone who would like to support our family with my mom’s funeral expenses. Anything helps and even words of kindness are plentiful. My family would like to thank anyone taking the time to read this short summary of our past year.
We would also like to take this time to invite anyone who knew my mom or friends that would like to show support to our family at her funeral. We will be having two separate open house viewings on Monday August 26th and the following Tuesday at Mountain View Funeral Home (address below) from 6PM to 9PM so come at your convenience. We know this is very sudden but we hope to see anyone that’s available to come. Thank you.
I love you, mẹ yêu của con. I’ll see you in my dreams. May you finally Rest In Peace.
