Bring Chris Herren To Waltham High School

Our school needs some help, and kids need to be inspired. As part of our Sophomore comp project, I am working to get Massachusetts native Chris Herren to come to our high school this fall, and speak to all students at an assembly about his life story and about prevention of substance abuse. I learned about him in a documentary I watched in health class freshman year. I have been working all year on this, and it would be amazing if I could get donations for this cause. Chris Herren is an outstanding speaker, and as a former NBA player and Division 1 athlete, he is a role model for many people. He is a great example of perseverance. I ask that you try and donate any amount of money to help reach the goal of raising $1,800. I will be so appreciative for your help if you donate, and you will be recognized. In Addition, the total cost of the event is $3600. Waltham Partnership for Youth has committed to using their federal Drug Free Communities grant to pay for half if we the students and community of Waltham, can raise the other half.
