Kimberly Walker is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Jamie Holcomb.
Earlier this year, beloved 36-year-old Houston area preschool teacher and mother of three (ages 5, 8 & 10), Jamie Holcomb, was given news that every woman fears and has completely turned her world upside down - "You have Stage 2 metastatic breast cancer." For any woman at any age, this news would be devastating but for Jamie - being so young, vibrant and having devoted her life to her children and so many of ours - it is news that has truly left us all shaken. Everyone who knows Jamie would undoubtedly say she is one of the sweetest and kindest people they know. Whether she's helping her preschool kids with crafts and/or teaching 2 and 3 year olds how to learn the alphabet, or helping her own kids with their homework and making sure they have what they need, you can rest assured that she is putting others first. Jamie has always been the absolute epitome of kindness and patience. On a daily basis, you will surely find her with a genuine and captivating smile on her face coupled with a positive attitude, which are certainly some of the many reasons that her students love her so much. Now, at the young age of 36, Jamie is about to embark on the fight of her life as she combats stage 2 breast cancer. As her chemotherapy continues, it is uncertain as to whether she can continue to work. We all know that preschool kids, no matter how hard we try, they are little germ factories. The risks associated with undergoing chemo and exposure to any forms of microbes drastically enhances Jamie's chances of catching something potentially life-threatening. It is possible her income will essentially cease to exist as she continues treatment because it'll be too physically demanding. Jamie is undoubtedly a fighter and highly motivated to do what it takes to beat this, but now it is time for her to rest and focus solely on her treatment and ridding her body of this cancer. Now more than ever, Jamie NEEDS our HELP... The funding from your contributions will go directly toward assisting Jamie with basic living expenses for her and her children, groceries, prescription costs, uninsured medical expenses, medical co-pays, and any other needs directly related to her care and the needs of her family. Her friends and family are pulling together to help support her through this next chapter and unknown journey ahead. We ask that if you can give, please do. There is no such thing as a small donation and every little bit is a blessing for her. She will need all the love, support and prayers to carry her through this difficult time. She has touched so many little lives with her kind spirit and bright smile. It's now our turn to show her how loved she is and give her the added strength and support she needs to beat this cancer. We thank you all in advance for your kind consideration/generosity and know Jamie will be eternally grateful for any help you can provide.
