Francesca Quitugua Deleon is training to be a Muay Thai fighter. In the campaign picture, she is the young woman on the right with the black/gold shorts. For those unfamiliar with Muay Thai, it is a newer sport in the US compared to other martial arts. The sport originated in Thailand and is known as the art of eight limbs since fighters exhibit a combined use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins.
Francesca started training April 2017 at Audacious Muay Thai Academy in Vacaville. In this short span, she has proven to her coaches, family, and friends that she has a natural talent and is dedicated to learn and master her craft. She has participated in five Youth Development League which are Educational Level Competitions to improve her skills. Her efforts are paying off since she has been invited to participate in the 2019 IFMA Youth World Championships in the Female 10-11 Division. This year, the event is being hosted in Antalya, Turkey from September 28th to October 6th.
This GoFundMe was created to help with the travel and expenses for Francesca and her mother, Jamie Quitugua. Francesca is the sixth of nine children, and the family does not have the means to pay for all the expenses alone. They are asking for the public's help in making Francesca's dream come true of becoming a Professional Muay Thai fighter. All donations are appreciated and no amount is too small.
