I am Susan Davidson a member of the Families for Care Support Group. I have known Kathy for over a year. She spends her time supporting families who have a family member with serious mental illness. Kathy now finds herself in a position where she needs financial help.Kathy’s family member is hospitalized for the third time this year. She has been his paid caregiver for several years and has charged him room and board to offset living expenses.The caregiving payments have stopped when he went into the hospital. The room and board contribution is now gone too.Kathy has worked several consulting jobs but it is not enough for her to be able to stay in her apartment. She lives in California where even the lowest rents are high.To top it off two days ago her car began having problems. She heard a clunk and then the transmission would not engage. The cost to repair the car is $3,000.00.Money raised will be directly deposited into Kathy’s bank account for immediate use. The money will go towards fixing her car and paying rent until she can financially get on her feet.Kathy has been a support to many. She now needs our support. Please contribute what ever amount you can. No amount is to small.
