Rescue And Rehab Fund For Howard “Butch” Coates
Donation protected
Thank you for considering the fund for Howard “Butch” Coates.Butch left his home for a quick ride on his ATV Thursday evening 8/8 with nothing but pants and shoes on a scorching summer evening in Athol, ID. After a nerve wracking 2 hours with no return, his wife, Cheryl, contacted the local Sheriff’s office and a full scale search was launched. Butch’s son, Chris, and Brother’s Paul, Alan and Randy traveled 6 hours east to join the search and rescue efforts. After an exhaustive 70-hour search, Paul and Chris located Butch’s wrecked, upside down ATV with a badly injured, dehydrated yet surprisingly coherent Butch! Flight for Life was called to airlift him from the wooded ravine he laid in for 3 days in extreme rain, thunder and lightning while pinned against a tree under his ATV. He was transported to safety and received care for severe dehydration and surgical repair of a badly broken hip. He is currently hospitalized and planning further rehabilitation at a local facility. The family is expecting extensive medical bills after an already previously financially devastating cancer battle by his wife, Cheryl. The family is seeking help in mitigating these costs. Any donation would be greatly appreciated!
