Hey, my name is Thomas Lim. I live in Maple Ridge B.C and I used to work for London Drugs for more than 30 yrs. 3 yrs ago, I got sick with a bone marrow condition that requires me to go to Ridge Meadow Hospital for bloodwork and Blood transfusions. That's my life now. After being poked so many times, the body tries to fight back with hiding the veins. Sometimes it take more than 10 pokes. The one thing that helps is a vein finder. It shines a light on your skin and shows the veins better. The problem is, the hospital doesnt have enough funding for each department to get one. The Emergency department and Medical Day Care has 1. When you are up in the rooms like 2North or 3West, all they can do is guess and feel. I have been poked so many times and I can't imagine what the seniors are going through. The cost of the unit is $12,000 each. I am trying to raise as much as I can for 2North and 3West.
