An Unexpected Journey

At the beginning of August my parents set off on, a long awaited, trip to Ireland, England and Wales. Over the past two weeks, I've enjoyed receiving updates and photos of their trip. I can honestly say, I have never seen my parents happier or more excited. Unfortunately, however, on the last leg of their trip my dad fell ill and had to be taken to the University Hospital in London. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and has been confined to the critical care unit for the past 3 days. At last update, this morning (8/12), his lungs are sounding clearer and he is stabilized. The doctors report that he may be moved tomorrow to a regular ward. Things are definitely headed in the right direction and fingers crossed they continue to do so... Originally they were scheduled to return home today but, given the circumstances, now have an extended stay for an undetermined length of time. I am hopeful that they will be cleared to fly before the end of August. It is for this unexpected part of their journey that I would like to raise money. They have far more costs to cover then planned. They now have to manage additional costs for lodging, food, travel and medical expenses. The medical expenses we will not know the full ramifications of for some time. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you .
