August 5 my 9 yr old son, Hunter Hinshaw, sustained serious injuries due to a ATV accident. He was lifeflighted to Mercy hospital in Springfield where he is currently in ICU. He now has rods in his femur, a jaw that's wired shut, numerous facial and skull fractures, and a pretty severe brain injury. He is still sedated and has not been awake since the accident. Due to brain swelling, portion of his skull was removed to allow for the brain pressure to be released. His stay in Springfield is expected to be several weeks, followed by inpatient rehab at the children's hospital in little rock.
