Tracey Kirk's Overwhelming Medical Expenses

My name is Tracey Kirk; I am 51 and have been a nurse for 30 years.   Many of you know me as a very independent, private, and proud person I do not like to ask for help.  Recently I was diagnosed with rectal cancer.  Due to the severity of my cancer I will be starting chemo and radiation treatments immediately.  Following the initial rounds of chemo and radiation there will be major surgery resulting in a colostomy.  This has been a very difficult time for Joe and me as we recently purchased our home and with all the medical expenses, cost of treatments, medications and supplies the financial situation is overwhelming.  Even though I have good insurance the out of pocket of my medication alone will exceed $10,000, just for the first 9 weeks.  I will be having surgery at Vanderbilt Hospital so the will require us to be traveling back and for the for at least 3 months then I will be having follow up chemo treatments for 41/2 months after surgery.  I have already accumulated many medical bills thus far.  This has put a great emotional and financial strain on us.  Any help would be greatly appreciated to help us with these expenses.  With the support and prayers of all my family and friends I am praying to move forward on this scary journey with a positive attitude and outlook and by the Grace of God I will beat this.
